STUDENT OF THE QUARTER
My name is Kaitlin Ellyce Warren. My parents are James Warren of East Dublin and Esther Smith of Rockledge. I’ve always been a good student. School presents a challenge, and that challenge is what has persuaded me to maintain a good grade point average. It has taught me that doing my best will give me better outcomes and rewards. A few years ago, I volunteered at the Laurens County Humane Society. I went there almost every day during the summer, and this experience taught me to appreciate life. I helped as much as I could, brushing, bathing, and playing with the dogs and cats. After that, I started working at Willow T Stables where I worked to pay for my riding lessons and the board of my horse, Ginger. The owners were my mentors and helped me to figure out that I wanted horses in my future. Though I no longer work there, I joined FFA to get more experienced in the agricultural business that I want to pursue. I have been a member of FFA throughout my entire high school career. FFA and its advisors have taught me valuable leadership and team building skills that I can take in to my future career. I’m also extremely interested in art. The way a painting can capture the very essence of something intrigues me. My goal is to attend UGA to major in animal science and minor in art. After that, I want to specialize in equine science. I also hope I can join their acclaimed equestrian team. After college I want to work for one of the top horse companies or associations.
